Uhuru Sports Club
Uhuru Sports Club has partnered with Community Soccer to bring soccer, school, and nutrition to the Nairobi community in Kenya, Africa. The Uhuru Sports Club seeks monetary and equipment donations in order to help provide food, education, and soccer to children in the Uhuru Sports Club. Many of the kids have become orphaned at a young age. The Uhuru Sports Club youth learn self-discipline and leadership through sports. The club is also working towards establishing a small self-supporting business in order to become financially self-sufficient. The kids are also learning gardening and other life skills. MORE ABOUT THE UHURU SPORTS CLUB
Out Of The Slums and Into School
Unlike many schools around the world, schools in Kenya are not free to attend. Thousands of Nairobi street children have no opportunity to go to school. They are the disadvantaged, poor, and they have no one to speak for them.
Many have been orphaned, their families killed by the past civil wars; Mom or Dad have become too ill from HIV epidemics and can no longer care for their children; many parents have died.
A sponsor family is life-saving to a street child. Sponsorship changes these young lives immediately!
From living on the streets to one of having good food, clean school uniforms and clothes, sanitary water and nourishing meals.
Children 5 years and younger attend a pre-school. Older children start in grades appropriate for their level.
With emphasis on sports training, especially soccer, Uhuru Sports Club has coaches for both boys and girls. Sponsorship is vital for a street child to GROW, PLAY and LEARN!.
